What Is Nutshell Activated Carbon

Nutshell activated carbon is a high-performance sorbent produced from certified agricultural by-products — primarily coconut, almond, palm, and walnut shells. Following the activation of the high temperature vapor, the compact lignocellulose material is converted to a hard, high-porosity carbon structure with an unusually high percentage (0.5 – 1.8 nm) of the micro-pores.

This unique pore structure provides fast adsorption dynamics and high retention capacity for low molecular weight compounds. Compared to coal-based alternatives, microcarbons exhibit superior hardness, lower ash content, and greater chemical purity, making them ideal for critical separation processes.

Completely renewable and virtually dust-free, they provide longer service life and reactivation ability.
